Gymnasium Addition Brings Essential Facilities to Palm View K-8
Gymnasium Addition Brings Essential Facilities to Palm View K-8
When Palm View expanded to include middle school curriculum, a gymnasium addition became essential. The new facility would provide modern space for physical education classes and extracurricular activities while fulfilling K-8 facility requirements.
Working with Fawley Bryant Architecture, NDC Construction built the new 9,500-square-foot facility while classes were in session. This involved prioritizing the safety of students and staff while minimizing disruptions to daily operations, especially as the build took place on less than an acre.
The resulting facility features a one-story gymnasium with a mezzanine storage area, restrooms, and an aluminum canopy system providing weather protection. The structure utilizes a pre-engineered metal building with concrete block and hollow core concrete slabs for the mezzanine floor.
