Building Support & Stability in Sarasota
Building Support & Stability in Sarasota
Arbor Village is an affordable community designed to provide housing and supportive services to people with disabilities and individuals experiencing homelessness.
After successfully launching dedicated communities in other regions, affordable housing specialist Blue Sky and nonprofit Community Assisted and Supported Living (CASL) partnered with NDC Construction and Forum Architecture & Interior Design to develop this tax credit-funded community in Sarasota.
The complex consists of two buildings. One is a four-story, garden-style, 80-unit apartment building and the second features CASL office space on-site.
The residential building is equipped with an elevator, providing ready access to all residents. There are 72 one-bedroom/one-bath units and eight two-bedroom/two-bath units. Each apartment features nine-foot ceilings, Energy Star appliances, ceiling fans, wood-style laminate floors, and expansive closets. Common area features include an on-site laundry room, free parking for residents, and welcoming common areas.
Additionally, residents have free access to a variety of programs, including employment assistance, financial management, case management, and peer and family support. These are provided by the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill Sarasota County (NAMI) and CASL, who are located in the office building on-site.
