Strategic Design Supports Around-the-Clock Operations

Contributing to the safety of the community is a vital service, and NDC Construction is honored to support Cedar Hammock Station #4 through the building of their fire station.

Working with Wannemacher Jensen Architects, Inc., NDC Construction delivered this design-build project on an aggressive timeline. With Cedar Hammock requiring the new facility to open by September 2010, the team had just 6.5 months to design and build the station—a deadline they successfully met.

The 5,269 square foot single-story building has been fully equipped with the key amenities necessary for operational efficiency and to meet the needs of hardworking first responders.

Beginning with two apparatus bays, the station also includes four individual fireman bunk rooms with accompanying individual restrooms to facilitate essential rest during long shifts. An EMS bunk room with a dedicated restroom enables medical staff to do the same.

In support of daily operations, the station features an office, a kitchen, and a dayroom, while storage rooms, a generator, and an outdoor patio round out the facility. To welcome community visits, a public restroom has also been incorporated.
