The Herrig Center Opens Doors to Greater Opportunity
The Herrig Center Opens Doors to Greater Opportunity
For more than 85 years, ArtCenter Manatee has been inspiring members of the Bradenton community—whether through the art exhibited in its gallery or the hands-on classes offered to people of every age. However, as demand grew, the nonprofit found itself having to turn potential participants away due to a lack of space.
Thanks to the new Herrig Center for the Arts, the future of art in Bradenton has never looked better. Designed by award-winning Wannemacher Jensen Architects and built by NDC Construction, ArtCenter Manatee’s new facility is itself a work of art. A two-story outdoor atrium links studios together, allowing in light and fresh air, while the second-floor gallery features 10-foot wall panels that can be adjusted to open up or close the space as needed.
In addition to its larger gallery, the new facility features nine classrooms, expanded office and storage space, a larger gift shop, a bigger kitchen, and a covered courtyard. The expansion means that new staff can be brought on to teach programs for children and adults alike, inspiring the next generation while serving the entire community.
